William C. Dawson, age 79, of Celina, Ohio was called home by "His Trudy" on Sunday, November 02, 2014 at his residence in Celina, Ohio. He was born on November 25, 1934 in Chicago , Illinois to the late Robert T. and Christine A. (Taylor) Dawson. On Dec. 19,1959 he married his beloved bride Patricia Ann "Patsy" Garrett, who died May 30, 2012.
William is survived by his daughters & sons-in-law Christi Ann & Paul Salchak of Waynesville, Cherie Lea & Tom Smith of Celina, six grandchildren Brittni Nicole & Travis Wenning, Caroline Rose & Michael Nickels, Erika Taylor Smith, Nathan Michael Gunter, Samuel William Salchak, Samuel Thomas Smith, and a sister Luella Kocielko of Elkhart, IN.
William was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Celina. He was a retired School Teacher of 34 years and a Principal for 7 years at the Franklin School in Montezuma, Ohio. William was a coach with the Challenger League in Celina.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30a.m. on Friday Nov. 7, 2014 at the St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Celina, with Rev. Matt Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in North Grove Cemetery, with Military honors. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. on Thursday Nov. 6, 2014 at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina. Memorial contributions may be made to the Appalachian Service Projects, St. Jude's Children Hospital, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
