John H. Fox, age 91, of St. Henry, Ohio, died on Friday, August 17, 2012 at Gardens at St. Henry, Ohio. He was born October 18, 1920 in Coldwater, Ohio to the late Edward and Edith (Schoen) Fox. On October 23, 1948 he married Edna (Bernard) in St. Henry and she survives in St. Henry. John is survived by a daughter Deb & Vic Hemmelgarn of St. Henry, three grandsons Robb & Jaime Hemmelgarn, Chad & Shannon Hemmelgarn and Jon & Erika Hemmelgarn, six great grandchildren, Laney, Lyndi, Jace, Emerson, Harper and Ben, two half brothers Ed & Linda Fox of Van Wert and Bill Fox of Coldwater, two half sisters, Mary Fickert of Celina and Virginia Baucher of Coldwater, two step sisters Joan Myers of Coldwater and Betty Anderson of Celina, two sisters-in-law Kathy Fox of Westerville and Arlene Brandewie of Ft. Loramie and three brothers-in-law Rocky Bernard of New Weston, Arthur & Janet Bernard of St. Henry and Allen Bernard of Cincinnati. He is preceded in death by stepmother Bess Fox, four sisters and spouses Margaret Fox, Sr. Rosemary Fox, Rita & Marion Nartker and Dorothy & Roger Ellis, a half brother Paul Fox, a half sister-in-law Sally Fox, two half brothers-in-law Don Fickert & Don Baucher, a step brother-in-law Warren Anderson, two sisters-in-law Ruth Bernard and Lil & Gene Sherman and a brother-in-law Maurice Brandewie. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, a 1939 graduate of Coldwater High School, he served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII in England & Scotland. He was a member of the St. Henry American Legion and a charter member of the Coldwater V.F.W. He retired as a foreman from Pax Steel in 1986 after 35 years. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry, Ohio, with Fr. Tom Hemm, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Henry Cemetery, St. Henry, Ohio. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home-St. Henry. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com.
